Fornetto

Terms

Last updated 6 October 2026

These are the terms for using Fornetto, a recipe, weekly-menu and shopping-list app run from the United Kingdom. They are short on purpose, so that you will actually read them. Nothing in them takes away your rights under UK consumer law.

Fornetto is run by us: Fornetto is a trading name of SJ Bloxham Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 13031231. Registered office: 1 Mead Villas, Hare Street, Buntingford, England, SG9 0EA. You can reach us at hello@fornetto.app.

By creating an account you agree to these terms and to how we handle your data, which is on the privacy page.

Your account

  • You need to be 13 or over to use Fornetto, and 18 or over to buy Premium.
  • Keep your password to yourself. What happens in your account is your responsibility, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
  • One account is for one person. To share with the people you live with, invite them to your household. Everyone in a household sees and can change the same recipes, menu and shopping list.

What you put in

  • Your recipes are yours. Everything you add (recipes, photos, notes, lists) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people in your household, and process it to run the features you use, such as sorting a list by aisle. That permission ends when you delete it or your account.
  • Only add what you’re allowed to. When you import a recipe from a website, a video or a cookbook, you’re keeping a copy for your own household’s use. Don’t use Fornetto to republish other people’s recipes or photos. If you share a recipe with a public link, anyone with the link can see it, so only share what you have the right to.
  • Tell us about anything that shouldn’t be here. If you think something on Fornetto infringes your rights, email hello@fornetto.app and we’ll look at it promptly.

Using it fairly

Please don’t:

  • use Fornetto for anything unlawful, or to store or share anything abusive or harmful;
  • try to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, or to probe, overload or break the service;
  • scrape it, resell it, or use automated tools to run up AI usage;
  • get around the credit or household limits.

If an account breaks these rules, we may pause or close it. Unless it’s serious or urgent, we’ll tell you first and give you the chance to sort it out.

The AI features, and food safety

  • Fornetto uses AI to read recipes from links, videos and photos, draft recipes from a title, estimate nutrition, suggest ideas and translate. It is usually right, but it can make mistakes: an ingredient misread, an amount wrong, a step out of order. You see what it read before anything is saved, so please check it.
  • Allergies and diets are yours to check. Always check the ingredients of anything you cook against your household’s allergies and dietary needs, whatever the recipe or a filter says. Nutrition figures worked out by Fornetto are estimates and are labelled as estimates. They aren’t medical or dietary advice.

Free, the trial, and Premium

  • Free is free. Recipes, the weekly menu, the shopping list and shopping mode cost nothing and stay free. The free plan includes 30 AI credits a month and a household of two.
  • The trial. Every new account starts with 14 days of Premium, with no card needed. When it ends, your household moves to the free plan unless you choose Premium. Nothing you’ve made is taken away.
  • More than two people. The free plan covers two people in a household: its owner and one other person, who the owner chooses. From 27 October 2026, when a household of more than two is on the free plan, the others stay in the household and can still see everything in it (the recipes, the week and the shopping list), but can’t change anything until the household is on Premium. Nobody is removed and nothing is deleted. Before that date, everyone in the household carries on as now.
  • Premium costs £3.99 a month or £29.99 a year, per household. That’s the whole price: there’s no VAT to add. It gives 300 AI credits a month and a household of any size. The price you pay is shown before you confirm, and payment is taken by Stripe.
  • Credits top up each month on the date your household signed up. Unused credits don’t carry over. A failed AI action isn’t charged, and one that produced nothing usable is refunded to your balance. Credits have no cash value.
  • Referrals. When someone new signs up through your link (Account → Household) and their household finishes its first shop, their household gets an extra week of Premium: a trial still running is extended, and one that has ended starts again for that long. A household already on Premium gets 30 extra AI credits instead. Your household gets 30 extra AI credits for that month; like the rest, they don’t carry over, and your household can earn them for up to 10 friends. Credits or days of Premium collected by making accounts for the purpose may be removed.
  • Renewal. Premium renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. If we ever change the price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

Cancelling, and refunds

  • Cancel anytime in Account → Plan → Manage subscription. Premium carries on until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your household moves to the free plan. Your recipes, lists and household all stay, and nobody is removed from it. If there are more than two of you, the free plan’s two-person limit above then applies.
  • Your 14-day right to cancel. You can cancel a new Premium subscription within 14 days of paying for it and get a full refund, even if you’ve used it. To cancel, email hello@fornetto.app or use Manage subscription.
  • After those 14 days we don’t refund part of a month or year. Cancelling stops the next payment.
  • If a payment fails, we’ll keep Premium running while the card is retried, and let you know. If it can’t be taken, your household moves to the free plan.

Closing your account

You can delete your account anytime in Account → Data. What happens to your data then is on the privacy page. If you pay for your household’s Premium, deleting your account cancels it, and the household moves to the free plan at once. No refund is due for the rest of the period unless you’re within the 14 days above. We may close an account that breaks these terms (see above), or one that has been inactive for a long time, and we’ll give notice first.

Keeping Fornetto running

We work to keep Fornetto available and your data safe, and we back it up every night. We can’t promise it will never be down or never have a fault, and we may change or retire features as the app develops. If we ever stop running Fornetto, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and a way to download your recipes (Account → Data already lets you download everything anytime).

Our responsibility to you

  • We’re responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or not taking reasonable care. We’re not responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, or for business losses (Fornetto is for households, not businesses).
  • Nothing here limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.
  • Otherwise, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Fornetto changes. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you don’t agree with it, you can stop using Fornetto and cancel Premium before then. The date at the top always shows the latest version.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts. If something goes wrong, please email hello@fornetto.app first. Most things can be sorted out quickly.
