Fornetto

What’s new

Last updated 8 October 2026

What has changed in Fornetto, newest first, from September 2026. How to use all of it is in the guide.

October 2026

  • 8 October

Start from scratch. Deleting every recipe in a household is now something only its owner can do, from Account → Data; anyone else can still delete recipes one at a time.

  • 7 October

Cooking from the recipe page. Open a recipe while you cook: the screen stays awake, and tapping a step crosses it off so you can see where you are.

  • 7 October

Leaving a household. The AI credits you’ve used this month now come with you when you leave a household, and your own household tops up on the day of the month you signed up.

  • 7 October

Show password. Wherever you type a password there is now a Show button beside it, so you can check what you typed before you send it.

  • 6 October

Choose who has the second seat. In a household of more than two, the owner can now choose in Account → Household who keeps the second seat on Free; anyone who can look but not change things is marked Paused there, and told so at the top of the app.

  • 6 October

Shortlist from the stock check. Changed your mind about a meal? Open its stock check and tap Move to shortlist: it comes off this week and its items come off the list, and the idea is kept.

  • 6 October

Household size on Free. From 27 October, a household on Free has two people who can change things, the owner and one other; anyone beyond that can still see everything, and can change things again as soon as the household is on Premium.

  • 5 October

Help on every screen. A ? at the top of every screen (Help in the sidebar on a computer) opens the weekly loop in four steps, the tour, the guide and a way to write to us.

  • 5 October

Reminders for shop day and planning. Fornetto can now send a notification on the morning you shop and on the evening you plan the week. Each is off until you turn it on in Account → App → Notifications.

  • 4 October

You stay signed in for longer. Fornetto now keeps you signed in for about a month after you last opened it, rather than a week.

  • 4 October

A password reset signs every device out. Resetting your password by email now signs you out everywhere, so a lost phone or a shared computer can’t stay signed in with the old one.

  • 4 October

More imports arrive with their photo. A recipe imported from a link now arrives with its photo on sites where it used to come through without one.

  • 2 October

Joining a household asks first. Signing in from someone’s invite link no longer moves an account you already use into their kitchen without asking: the invite page asks you first.

  • 2 October

The occasional note. Tips and what’s new can now include a short note if you’ve been away a while. Only if you tick the box.

  • 1 October

Invite with a link. Account → Household can make an invite link to send on WhatsApp or anywhere else, so you no longer need someone’s email address to share your kitchen.

  • 1 October

A week of Premium for a friend. A friend who joins through your Give a friend Fornetto link now gets an extra week of Premium after their first shop, instead of extra AI credits.

September 2026

  • 30 September

Give a friend Fornetto. Account → Household has your own link to share: when a friend signs up with it and their household finishes its first shop, you both get extra AI credits.

  • 30 September

Collections at a glance. Recipes has a Collections view: each collection is a tile with photos from its recipes, and one tap opens the list on just those.

  • 30 September

How did that shop go? After your first and fourth shop, Clear collected asks how it went: one tap to answer, and a line if you want to say more.

  • 30 September

Improve recipe tidies amounts. An amount typed at the start of an ingredient, like 500g pork mince, moves into its Qty and Unit boxes when you improve a recipe, and is no longer divided by the portions.

  • 29 September

Getting-started emails. New accounts get a few short emails in their first two weeks — how the weekly loop works, putting Fornetto on your phone, a first recipe and a first list — and you can turn them off in Account → Profile or from any of them.

  • 27 September

Choose your emails. Account → Profile has a box for Tips and what’s new (monthly, off until you tick it) and one for getting-started emails, and each of those emails has a one-click unsubscribe.

  • 27 September

Regulars. Tap the repeat button (↻) on one of your own items and it’s offered back whenever it’s not on the list.

  • 25 September

Shortlist. Tap it on a recipe to keep it for later without touching the list, and move it to this week when it’s time.

  • 23 September

Amounts add up. Two recipes that both want onions put them on the list once, with the amounts added together when they share a unit.

  • 23 September

The dish photo from the page. Photograph a cookbook page and, if it shows the finished dish, that picture becomes the recipe’s photo.

  • 21 September

Share from iPhone. Add the Add To Fornetto Shortcut from the Install page, and a reel or a page goes straight in.

  • 16 September

Plan by day, if you want to. Turn it on at the top of This week and your meals sit under the days you’ll cook them, the same days for everyone in your household; leave it off and the week stays a simple list.

  • 16 September

Recipes in other languages. Import a recipe written in another language and it comes in translated into English, with a note saying so.

  • 15 September

Works with no signal. The installed app opens without a connection, with your recipe list, this week, the list and shop mode, and ticks sync when you’re back.

  • 15 September

Add it to a collection? Save a recipe Fornetto drafted for you and it asks which of your collections it belongs in, or you can skip.

  • 12 September

One Add button. The + in the middle of the tab bar (Add recipes in the sidebar on a computer) opens every way in: Inspiration, a link, a reel, a photo of a page, a dish name, or typing it yourself.

  • 11 September

Filter by several collections. Tick more than one collection in the Collections menu on Recipes and only recipes in all of them show, with Favourites and Added by narrowing it further.

  • 10 September

Share to Fornetto on Android. With the app installed, share a recipe page or a reel from any app, pick Fornetto, and it opens already importing.
